TVLK Digital Launch
Digital Station launched on April 8 2018
The fictional TV station created specifically for the documentary is called TVLK; Television of Broken Hearts. This is East Timor's first digital TV station and home of Rambo Marabunta's bizarre reality TV show.
We have recently launched a digital campaign with some 'coming soon' and preview clips of the show which were filmed as preliminary tests. The national broadcaster TVE (in East Timor) will take this content in the form of a half hour show to screen later in the year. They have also offered us free use of their live broadcast facilities.
Through several archival montages the film will deep dive into the historical context of the Indonesian invasion, which was supported by both American and Australian foreign governments. Diplomatic cables are declassified after 30 years giving us a trove of brand new information, with Australian lawyers winning a case in May 2018 to declassify several new diplomatic cables. When assembled they give a clear picture of how international governments knowingly ignored the genocide in favour of economic and diplomatic incentives.

Ian’s comment about THIS IS REALITY:“I believe the project has great potential. This is one of the most bizarre and engaging narratives that I’ve read in over 15 years of assessing feature documentary projects. After reading the materials on the project and having spoken to the team I really believe that this film has the potential of becoming both a film festival favourite and a critical and commercial hit.”
